Actor, Singer, Musician

Following its sold-out run at New York Theatre Workshop, Brendan was set to make his Broadway debut in Sing Street at the Lyceum Theatre in March 2020, until the Broadway shutdown occurred on the first day of tech rehearsals. Brendan was with the production from the first New York developmental workshop and industry reading in August 2019, originating the role of Gary. All music in Sing Street is performed live on stage by the actors; Brendan was the lead keyboard/piano player and and also played guitar. Brendan was cast in the production after a nation-wide open call held auditions in Boston, MA, where he grew up. He now lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Brendan can be heard singing & playing keys/piano on the Sing Street Cast Album. During rehearsals for the Broadway run, Brendan helped to design and program new keyboard sounds for the production, working under Sing Street composer Gary Clark (of the band Danny Wilson), music supervisor and orchestrator Peter Gordeno (of Depeche Mode), and renowned Broadway keyboard magician Randy Cohen.

Prior to the temporary Broadway shutdown, Sing Street released three music videos: “Up,” “The Riddle of the Model,” and “Drive It Like You Stole It.”

Brendan actively engaged with fans on social media and did several “Instagram Takeovers” for both New York Theatre Workshop and Sing Street Broadway social media accounts. Brendan was nominated by BroadwayWorld readers in 2020 for Broadway Star-to-Be of the Next Decade.

In April 2020, after the Broadway shutdown, Brendan participated in Sing Street: Grounded, a virtual event that showcased songs, scenes, and stories from the show—one of the first of its kind at the beginning of the shutdown. Sing Street raised $310,924 for The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes and John Taylor made a surprise appearance in the event! On the day leading up to the release, Brendan did an Instagram takeover on the Sing Street Broadway account, as well as a post-event livestream afterparty for fans. Brendan’s New England performance credits include North Shore Music Theatre’s A Christmas Carol (2016), Arpad Laszlo in She Loves Me at Greater Boston Stage Company (IRNE Nomination), & Seacoast Repertory Theatre’s productions of Spamalot, Spring Awakening, & The Who’s Tommy.

He is also a paid graphic designer and has worked as a music director and vocal instructor at a children’s theatre company on the north shore of Massachusetts.

Brendan is a member of Faneuil Hall Marketplace’s street performer program in Boston, MA, where he sometimes performs when not working on other projects.
